Reflections from NRF NYC

Chocolates beat pens. The Super Bowl of retail National Retail Federation NYC wrapped this week. As I head back West, I'm grateful and excited about what's ahead for Voicebox.ai team!

Three days, hundreds of conversations, many new friends. When Tiffanys says you're the most interesting voice tech they saw all week, it means you're on the right track.

What Drove Steady Booth Traffic

People asked how we got steady traffic at our booth. A few things that might help you:

  1. Take the time to craft distinct messages for different audiences – press, retail leaders, partners. Visitors showed us circled in their guidebook and told us our description hit key points.
  2. Build relationships for the long-term. Stay in touch with people. Then invite them to come meet. Remember to include easy directions to your booth and the booth number. From old friends to new relationships, people dropped by because we'd asked them to.
  3. Invest in presentability. We had big TVs displaying carefully put together colorful decks, on a loop. Conferences are big. You need to be seen above the crowd.
  4. Personal, but we like to give out chocolates. Brings a smile to people.
Gratitude

Liana P., Charles P. Smith, Zara Safiullah – you are awesome. You saw something and selected Voicebox.ai for the Innovators Showcase, taking us around the world in 9 months: Singapore, Paris, then NYC. You enabled a US west coast company to open up globally, creating forcing functions to move fast.

Thanks Mark Cuban, Amit Jain, and so many more who support us. Thanks Rosemary DeAragon and the Snowflake team (more to come).

Only in NYC. Tue night – thanks to Michael Russell – dinner at an exclusive spot in the Upper East next to Paul McCartney's piano.
